The Brewbaker Tech Rams pushed their score all the way to 65 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to St. Paul's Episcopal.
When it comes to explaining why Brewbaker Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kevin Honer. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. Honer scored a full 40% of Brewbaker Tech's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Johnathan Williams was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Brewbaker Tech has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for St. Paul's Episcopal, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Brewbaker Tech will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Demopolis at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for St. Paul's Episcopal, they will be playing at home against Faith Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
