Willits was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 62-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Round Valley Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-44 on December 4th.
Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Damian Reiter, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. Reiter continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Oliver, who posted 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and five blocks.
Willits' defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Round Valley, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Willits will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Calistoga at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
