Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kahuku). They enjoyed a cozy 65-48 win over the Mid-Pacific Institute Owls on Saturday. For the Red Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 40-29 victory the Owls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2019.

Mid-Pacific Institute's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Miura, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 18 points. Logan Mason was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Kahuku moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Mid-Pacific Institute, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.

Kahuku will take on Kailua in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on December 23rd. As for Mid-Pacific Institute, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-64 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 14th.
