South San Antonio is 9-1 against the Dragons since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The South San Antonio Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Southwest Dragons at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as South San Antonio comes in on three and the Dragons on 15.
Even though Winn scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, South San Antonio still came out on top. South San Antonio really took it to the Mavericks for the full four quarters, racking up a 92-65 victory at home.
In what's become a running theme this season, Southwest gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Southside 87-48 on the road. Given Southwest's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Cardinals are ranked 957th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South San Antonio pushed their record up to 18-10 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Southwest, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.
South San Antonio came up short against the Dragons when the teams last played back in January, falling 63-52. Can South San Antonio avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
