The Waverly Vikings stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Hastings 58-35. Winning may never get old, but Waverly sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Parker Christiansen was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Tritz, who scored 11 points.
Waverly pushed their record up to 14-4 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Hastings, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
Waverly will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln Northwest at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hastings, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grand Island at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Grand Island comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
