The Franklin Quakers won the last time they faced the McDaniel Mountain Lions , and things went their way on Friday too. Franklin took down McDaniel 32-14.
Franklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Silas Combs, who threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Ethan Aman also helped out with an impressive 99 receiving yards.
When it comes to explaining why McDaniel lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tre'Marion Crawford. Despite the final result, he rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Even if they lost, McDaniel's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Erik Hoover and his two sacks.
Franklin's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for McDaniel, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6.
Franklin will take on Wells at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wells knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Franklin likes a good challenge. As for McDaniel, they will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
