The biggest upset of the week belonged to Verbum Dei, who took down 931st ranked Verbum Dei, 20-19.
Bishop Montgomery moved up to 612 from 691 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Del Rey. The Knights climbed the ranks as a result of a 34-14 win over Cantwell-Sacred Heart.
The Cardinals' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Timothy Walsh threw for 183 yards and Chase Busse had 66 yards receiving. On the ground Jared Gonzales chipped in 81 yards. Gonzales helped Cantwell-Sacred Heart's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 62 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Walsh of Cantwell-Sacred Heart is the league leader in passing yards this season with 802. He has also thrown four touchdowns. On the ground, La Salle's Isreal Lacy has rushed for 478 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jalen Gray. The La Salle star has 13 catches for 205 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Lancers take on the Eagles. At the moment, La Salle is in first, while Verbum Dei is in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Russell Gordon's team takes on James A Durk Jr's team. The Lancers have allowed 59 points this season, while the Eagles have given up 104.
Mary Star of the Sea and Verbum Dei played the most hotly contested game in Del Rey this week, with Mary Star of the Sea eventually emerging with a 20-19 victory.
