Ligonier Valley has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Derry Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Ligonier Valley pushed their score all the way to 61 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 76-61 fall against Albert Gallatin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), Ligonier Valley still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Derry's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. The game between them and Shady Side Academy wasn't particularly close, with Derry falling 73-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Ligonier Valley dropped their record down to 4-17 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Derry, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Ligonier Valley came up short against Derry in their previous matchup back in January, falling 76-65. Can Ligonier Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
