If the Portageville Bulldogs were feeling good off their 73-50 takedown of the Kelly Hawks last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Portageville suffered a rough 65-42 defeat at the hands of Charleston on Friday. Portageville was down 50-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Ko'terrion Owens continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Charleston, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Owens hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachyran Thomas, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Portageville's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Charleston, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-12.
Portageville will face off against East Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Charleston, they will be playing at home against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Charleston's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
