The Greene County Wildcats lost against the Pass Christian Pirates back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Greene County took a serious blow against Pass Christian, falling 63-26. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Greene County in their matchups with Pass Christian: they've now lost nine in a row.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tylan Blackston, who scored six points along with four steals. Blackston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cordarius Molten, who scored nine points.
Greene County was without their leading scorer, Yabarrai Bolton, in Friday's match. With Bolton sitting this one out, Javon Watts got some extra time on the court (22 vs. his season average of 9.53).
Greene County's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Pass Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.
Greene County will be playing at home against Lanier at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Greene County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday. Pass Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
