Stratford and Weston are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Red Devils will be playing at home against the Trojans at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Stratford took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Westhill 14-2.
Morgan Letizia tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shyan Rolle, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Rolle is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Leimgruber, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Weston). They put the hurt on Bassick with a sharp 26-1 win on Monday.
Lily Moskoff was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Moskoff was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Ashley McCain was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alice Sullivan, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Weston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .756. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Stratford now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Weston, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Weston's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Stratford has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 14.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Weston, though, as they've been averaging 10 hits. Given Stratford's sizable advantage in that area, the Trojans will need to find a way to close that gap.
Stratford took their win against Weston in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
