A well-balanced attack led the Jonesboro Cardinals over the Forest Park Panthers in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Jonesboro blew the Panthers out of the water with a 62-19 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-10.
Montez Redding was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points. Another player making a difference was Cortez Redding, who scored four points along with nine assists and six rebounds.
Jonesboro pushed their record up to 15-9 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Forest Park, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jonesboro will challenge the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Morrow focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for Forest Park, they will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alcovy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Georgia (the Tigers are ranked 219th, while the Panthers are ranked 506th).
