The Carmel Corsairs came into Friday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 60-36 margin over Nazareth Academy. This was payback for Carmel, who suffered a 50-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Nazareth Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Talen Pearson, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, and Matthew Callahan who scored eight points along with two steals.
Carmel's win bumped their record up to 10-17. As for Nazareth Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carmel will take on the RedHawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marist will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Nazareth Academy, they and the Shamrocks will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Patrick presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Roadrunners in Illinois (the Shamrocks are ranked 84th, while the Roadrunners are ranked 301st).
