The Twin Springs Titans will face off against the Castlewood Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Twin Springs' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so Castlewood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Twin Springs' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Rye Cove.

Makenzie Gillenwater made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Aubrey Meade was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jayde Tomlinson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Castlewood). They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over Thomas Walker on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Devils considering their one-run performance the game before.
Like Twin Springs, Castlewood also got a great game from a two-way player: Anna Summers. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Summers was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on J Phillips, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Castlewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .793. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Castlewood's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Twin Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2-1.
Castlewood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Twin Springs hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. It's a different story for Castlewood, though, as they've only averaged .198. Will they be able to contain Twin Springs' hitters?
Twin Springs skirted past Castlewood 5-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
