Despite the loss, Cypress Creek saw an underclassman step up: Iliana Dorvilus scored 19 points. Dorvilus scored a full 46.3% of Cypress Creek's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Timberlyn Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Keilani Serrano went supernova for East River, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Serrano has scored at least 25% of East River's points. Another player making a difference was Yariana Lugo Perez, who scored 9 points along with 5 assists.
Cypress Creek now has a losing record at 1-2. As for East River, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cypress Creek will take on Lake Nona at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East River, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Winter Park at 4:30 p.m. Hopefully Winter Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday.
