Tiffany Seemann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Katelyn Wassey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alondra Maldonado, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lake Howell got the win against Timber Creek on Monday by a conclusive 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Silverhawks, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Rhianna Hudson made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Hudson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Jordan Hodosko was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Elena Medel also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Lake Howell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timber Creek only posted an OBP of .304.
Lake Howell pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Winter Springs, their record is now 16-7.
Both Winter Springs and Lake Howell just can't seem to miss. The Bears have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Lake Howell struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Winter Springs took their victory against Lake Howell when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
