The Opp Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 74-45 loss at the hands of Red Level. Opp has not had much luck with Red Level recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Opp lost, one person who can't be blamed is Josh Smith. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Smith also pulled down eight rebounds for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Alan Jones, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Opp's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-6. As for Red Level, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Opp won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pleasant Home at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Pleasant Home is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games. As for Red Level, they will be playing at home against Andalusia at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
