Football Recap: East Bladen Piles Up the Points Against Lakewood

While East Bladen put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Lakewood. The Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Leopards 32-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 26 points or more this season.

East Bladen got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dashon Campbell out in front who rushed for 82 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Jaden Lewis helped out on the ground, rushing for 141 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: East Bladen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 352 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards in 13 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

East Bladen didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Xavier Potts, Lewis, and Raheem Lewis picked up one apiece. Jaden also rushed for 141 rushing yards, which is notable because East Bladen is 5-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

East Bladen's record now sits at 6-3. As for Lakewood, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

Coming up, East Bladen will venture away from home to challenge Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lakewood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hobbton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Leopards surely won't give up without a fight.
