Trenton is 7-0 against Fort White since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Trenton Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fort White Indians at 6:30 p.m. Trenton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Trenton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Bell 57-27 at home. Considering Trenton has won three matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Nyima Gillyard was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Gillyard has scored at least 25% of Trenton's points. Another player making a difference was Kayley Sloan, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Fort White came up short against Lafayette on Thursday and fell 45-36. While losing is never fun, Fort White can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Lafayette is ranked 149th).
Fort White got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Isreal Hart and
Kira Law, who each put up two points.
Trenton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Fort White, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Trenton against Fort White in their previous meeting two weeks ago as the squad secured a 50-22 win. With Trenton ahead 34-12 at the half, the match was all but over already.
