Mountain View has gone a perfect 10-0 against Flowing Wells recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Mountain View Mountain Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Flowing Wells Caballeros at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Mountain View's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Flowing Wells has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Mountain View will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Ironwood Ridge, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Mountain View narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Ironwood Ridge 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mountain Lions have posted since April 27, 2024.
Arianna Figueroa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Danika Stoddard and Mia Quinonez did most of the damage at the plate: Stoddard went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Quinonez scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Flowing Wells was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Walden Grove, falling 13-1.
Kristen Felix was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
Flowing Wells' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Everything went Mountain View's way against Flowing Wells in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Mountain View made off with a 19-6 win. Will Mountain View repeat their success, or does Flowing Wells have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
