3A District 4 recap September 10, 2013
Lakeland Christian's T. J. Simmons recorded the longest rushing play in 3A District 4 this season in his game against Orangewood Christian last week. Simmons' team defeated the Rams as he sprinted for 81 yards on the play and finished with 192 in all.
Fort Meade moved up to 124 from 155 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Miners were able to make move up by besting Hardee 18-6.
Christian Alexander and Simmons gave Lakeland Christian a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Leroy Deshazor also contributed to the rushing game with 31 yards on the ground.

Simmons was the best running back in the league this week.
Justin Motlow was the best wideout in 3A District 4 this week as Tampa Catholic bested Clearwater Central Catholic. Motlow racked up 4 receptions for 74 yards. Tre Watson helped Tampa Catholic's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 38 yards.
Addison Grams was a key player and the best on defense this week as Berkeley Prep beat Victory Christian Academy. The 5-foot-11 defensive back.
Simmons provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Vikings bested Orangewood Christian. Simmons' favorite target this week was Brad Peace, who caught 6 passes for 78 yards.
Alexander put up the best numbers in passing as Lakeland Christian topped Bill Gierke's team. He finished with a total of 12 completions for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Crusaders' Kyle Ploucher and Motlow have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Ploucher has thrown for 333 yards this season, while Motlow has 10 catches for 116 yards. Simmons from the Vikings leads the league in rushing with 429 yards.
Frostproof took down Tenoroc 59-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
