3A SPSL recap Nov. 7, 2012
Peninsula was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Oak Harbor. The Seahawks came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 30 last week.
Peninsula extended the longest winning streak in 3A SPSL this week by beating the Wildcats, 36-12. The win marks seventh in a row for the Ross Filkins' team.
Auburn Mountainview's Domenic Rockey and Kekoa Nahaku have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Rockey has thrown for 1901 yards this season, while Nahaku, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 57 catches for 744 yards. Lakes's Kevin Thompson leads the league in rushing yards with 749.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Peninsula takes on second place Lakes. Last week, the Seahawks beat Oak Harbor, while the Lancers lost to O'Dea.
