Basketball Recap: Bishop Kenny Gets the Win

The Bishop Kenny Crusaders beat the Dillard Panthers 52-41 on Wednesday.

Kathleen Crawley had another great game (as she tends to do), going 8-for-12 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and seven rebounds. Her big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Makala DesJarlais, who posted nine points and five steals.

Bishop Kenny smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Azaziah Evans Blake, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. Samiyah Gregg also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Bishop Kenny's record now sits at 3-1. As for Dillard, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Bishop Kenny didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-12 win against Columbia on the 29th. As for Dillard, they will venture away from home to square off against South Broward at 6:00 p.m. on the 4th.
