Trinity couldn't beat IC Catholic Prep on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Blazers lost 21-5 to the Knights. The Blazers have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Trinity saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaida Escanio, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, DePaul College Prep hadn't done well against Niles West recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Rams came out on top against the Wolves by a score of 6-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three games in a row.
Lauren Steele made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grayson Ruff, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
DePaul College Prep hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.
