In what's become a running theme this season, the Lutheran Lions gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They really took it to Lewis-Palmer for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-29 win at home. The victory was nothing new for Lutheran as they're now sitting on five straight.
Lutheran found their leader in underclassman Berkley Schneider, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Mikaela-zoe Colon was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Defeat or not, Lewis-Palmer got some senior leadership from Brooke Lordino and Kendall Lane. Lordino scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two blocks, while Lane. scored nine points along with seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Lordino posted two or more blocks.
Lutheran's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Lewis-Palmer, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran will take on Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Air Academy will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Lutheran surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lewis-Palmer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Discovery Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Discovery Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
