I Northern - Sierra recap November 5, 2013
Carson extended the longest winning streak in I Northern - Sierra this week by beating Douglas, 19-13. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Carson and the Tigers played the closest game in the league this week, with Carson eventually emerging with a 19-13 victory. Garrett Schafer threw for 151 yards and 1 touchdown in the win.
Damonte Ranch's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyle Daugherty threw for 266 and 3 touchdowns and Sean Pinching had 104 yards receiving. On the ground Grant Cooper contributed 130 yards. Robert Carmazzi helped Damonte Ranch's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 79 yards.
RYAN BELL was a key player and the best on defense this week as Bishop Manogue lost to Reno. The 6-foot-0 defensive back forced 1 fumble.
Daugherty put up the best numbers in passing as the Mustangs beat McQueen. Daugherty's favorite target this week was Pinching, who caught 5 passes for 104 yards.
6-foot-5 quarterback Daugherty of Damonte Ranch is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,836. He has also thrown 17 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Chaz Clark. The Galena star has 44 catches for 872 yards.
Going into this week's contest against the Lancers, Shawn Dupris' team's Daugherty needs 164 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
The Mustangs took down McQueen 56-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Daugherty during the win.
