This season hasn't been kind to the Webutuck Warriors, who are still winless after their 13th match. They took a serious blow against Mount Academy on Wednesday, falling 77-36. Webutuck has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Mount Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Maendel out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Maendel hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Dennis Hofer, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Webutuck dropped their record down to 0-13 with that defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mount Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Webutuck will take on the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ellenville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for Mount Academy, they will be playing at home against the Dragons at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Dover knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Eagles likes a good challenge.
