Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask GV Christian). They blew past the Beatty Hornets 24-15 on Wednesday. With that  victory, the Guardians brought their scoring average up to 6.7  runs per game.
 Christopher Oxhorn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  struck out eight batters over  two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Those  eight  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Wake Rowling, who  scored five  runs and  stole six bases while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances. Those  six  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Wayne Budd, who  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-4.
 GV Christian was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .464. They are 3-1 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The  win made it two in a row for GV Christian and  bumps their season record up to 4-11. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Beatty,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 2-4.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. GV Christian will have some time to savor their  win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Laughlin at 1:00  p.m.  on  the 15th. As for Beatty, they will challenge Round Mountain at 1:00  p.m.  on Friday.
