Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin County). They took down the Port Gibson Blue Waves 57-40 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Blue Waves back in December of 2024, they had to take a 54-50 loss.

When it comes to explaining why Port Gibson lost, don't look at Ger'Kiya Flowers. Despite the final result, she posted 26 points and four steals. That was a full 65% of Port Gibson's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Destiny Neal, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards.

Franklin County's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Port Gibson, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
