The Rosemont Wolverines are taking a road trip to face off against the McClatchy Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Rosemont turned things around against Galt on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 8-1 win. The Wolverines not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2024.
Talia Adams made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Jalaya Cozart was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Savannah Arroyo also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, it was close, but last Monday McClatchy sidestepped Union Mine for a 5-3 victory.
Madelyn Ogata spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, Jeneyse Morales was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Cali Del Mazzio, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
McClatchy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union Mine only posted a batting average of .250.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-6. As for McClatchy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Rosemont's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. Rosemont has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for McClatchy, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Rosemont continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Rosemont's way against McClatchy when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Rosemont made off with a 13-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rosemont since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
