The North Panola Cougars will be playing at home against the Nettleton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nettleton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on North Panola, who comes in off a win.
North Panola put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Holly Springs, posting a 69-34 victory on the road. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Meanwhile, Nettleton came up short against East Webster on Thursday and fell 28-19. Nettleton gained 143 more yards on the day, but it was East Webster that made the best of use of them.
Despite the loss, Nettleton saw an underclassman step up: Braylen Williams rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 214 yards and a touchdown.
North Panola is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Nettleton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
North Panola took their win against Nettleton in their previous meeting back in November of 2020 by a conclusive 41-21. Will North Panola repeat their success, or does Nettleton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
