Grand Oaks had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt New Caney on Friday. The Grizzlies' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Grizzlies have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Grand Oaks is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for New Caney, they dropped their record down to 16-10-2 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Grand Oaks will venture away from home to square off against Conroe at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Grizzlies surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Caney, they will welcome Willis at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildkats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
