Marana's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Adrian Griffin led the charge by scoring ten points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bella Corona, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Marana is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-13 record this season. As for Desert View, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Marana will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Tucson High Magnet School at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Desert View won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Catalina Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Catalina Foothills presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Desert View in Arizona (Catalina Foothills is ranked 73rd, while Desert View is ranked 263rd).
