The Highland Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Alta Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Highland has struggled recently with 15 losses in a row, while the Hawks will arrive with ten straight victories.
Last Tuesday, Highland was the victim of a rough 53-31 defeat at the hands of the Bengals. While losing is never fun, Highland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Bengals are ranked 27th).
Danae Asiata was Highland's leading scorer, having posted 11 points.
Grace Szwedko held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Alta was able to grind out a solid win over the Eagles on Tuesday, taking the game 58-46.
Highland's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Alta, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
Highland was taken down by the Hawks 56-28 when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Alta's Leafa Niumeitolu, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds.
