Basketball Recap: London Skates Past Mathis with Ease

London had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging an 86-43 win over the Mathis Pirates. London has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

London was led to victory by Aiden Salinas and Ac Carpentier. Salinas went 10 for 17 en route to 22 points along with six boards and three steals, while Carpentier went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Salinas' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Maddox Jennings, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and five steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: London was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

London has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Mathis, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

London will take on Aransas Pass at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Aransas Pass has won six straight at home, while London won 12 straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change. As for Mathis, they will face off against West Oso at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Oso is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.
