The El Primero Lobos will square off against the KIPP Navigate College Prep Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
On Tuesday, El Primero didn't have quite enough to beat Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit and fell 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Lobos in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost eight in a row.
El Primero took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-13, 22-25, 25-19, 15-8.
Meanwhile, KIPP Navigate College Prep came into Monday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past ACE Charter 3-0 on Monday. The Tigers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 20th (when they won 3-0).
KIPP Navigate College Prep never let ACE Charter on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-13, 26-24.
El Primero better keep an eye on Qui Huynh. He was instrumental in KIPP Navigate College Prep's win, getting eight aces. That's the most aces Huynh has posted since back in April of 2024.
KIPP Navigate College Prep was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. They are 4-2 when they serve at least ten aces.
KIPP Navigate College Prep's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for El Primero, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
El Primero came out on top in a nail-biter against KIPP Navigate College Prep when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Lobos repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
