ThunderRidge is 10-0 against Heritage since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The ThunderRidge Grizzlies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Heritage Eagles at 7:00 p.m. ThunderRidge is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.
Last Friday, ThunderRidge faced Douglas County in a battle between two of the state's top teams. ThunderRidge came out on top against Douglas County by a score of 76-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
ThunderRidge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Charlie Spann out in front who scored 23 points. Spann hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Wight, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Heritage strolled past Littleton with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 58-41. The win was just what Heritage needed coming off of a 75-54 defeat in their prior match.
Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trystan Rangel led the charge by scoring 12 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Carter Thompson, who scored 11 points.
ThunderRidge pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: ThunderRidge have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 31.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Heritage struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 28.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for ThunderRidge against Heritage in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 70-37 win. With ThunderRidge ahead 35-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.
