University took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 41-26 win over the Keller Central Chargers.
London Smith had a dynamite game for University, picking up 133 receiving yards and two touchdowns. University also got a significant boost from JD Bell, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, University was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 520 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since back in August of 2023.
University wouldn't let Keller Central keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. University can thank Jeremiah Green and Andre Young for forcing both of them. Young also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up 0.5 sacks, forcing a fumble, and making four total tackles.
Despite the loss, Keller Central saw an underclassman step up: Spencer Martin rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University will challenge Granbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
