Becker and Big Lake are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Big Lake took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Becker, who comes in off a win.
Becker is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Cambridge-Isanti get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Bluejackets: they've now won five in a row.

Isaac Guck was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Hunter Pietrowski was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Becker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Big Lake nor St. Francis made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Hornets fell 5-2 to the Fighting Saints. That makes it the first time this season the Hornets have let down their home crowd.
Big Lake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Schleif, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Big Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Becker, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Becker has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Big Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Becker was able to grind out a solid win over Big Lake in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 11-6. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
