The Pinkston Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 60-33 defeat at the hands of North Forney. Pinkston lost against North Forney in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 43-23 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Pinkston lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cenaya Calhoun- jingles. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds. Calhoun- jingles scored a full 57.6% of Pinkston's points, the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lyrick Donaldson, who scored 2 points along with 10 rebounds.
Pinkston has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 1-11 record. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.7 points per game. As for North Forney, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Pinkston will look to defend their home court on Friday against Nimitz at 7:30 p.m. Nimitz is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for North Forney, they will head out on the road to face off against Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
