Basketball Game Preview: First Baptist Crusaders vs. Community Christian

First Baptist hasn't had much luck against Community Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the First Baptist Crusaders will jump right back in to play Community Christian at 6:45 p.m. First Baptist's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so Community Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, First Baptist beat Woodcrest Baptist Academy 35-31. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with Woodcrest Baptist Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Lydia Wynja continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 15 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maya McKinney, who posted six points and six rebounds.

First Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Community Christian put another one in the bag last Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-52 W against First Baptist. Community Christian's win was all the more impressive since First Baptist was averaging only 27.84 points allowed on the season.

First Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Community Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

First Baptist came up short against Community Christian when the teams last played last Monday, falling 57-52. Can First Baptist avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
