The Bangor Vikings will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lawrence Tigers at 7:30 p.m. The timing isn't great for Bangor: they have been struggling with 11 straight losses at home dating back to last season, while the Tigers have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Last Friday, Bangor came up short against the Raiders and fell 46-39.
Meanwhile, Lawrence was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 51-46 to the Indians.
Despite the defeat, Lawrence saw an underclassman step up: Carolina Mancera scored 23 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That was a full 50% of Lawrence's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Hailey Camp, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Bangor has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Lawrence, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Bangor skirted past the Tigers 37-34 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Bangor repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
