Baseball Game Preview: Sanger Indians vs. Krum Bobcats

The Sanger Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Krum Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sanger is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Sanger barely beat Bridgeport the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Sanger blew past Bridgeport 15-7 on Friday. While the Indians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 14-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Sanger let Twister Wilson and Reed Sebastian run wild. Wilson scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Sebastian went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Wilson is becoming a predictor of Sanger's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Levi Hendricks also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Sanger hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Krum unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 9-3 to Eagle Mountain. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bobcats have suffered since April 2, 2024.

Sanger has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. Krum's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.

Sanger suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to Krum in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Sanger avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
