Morristown is 8-0 against Knightstown since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Morristown Yellow Jackets will be staying on the road to face off against the Knightstown Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Morristown is ranked 288th, while Knightstown is ranked 310th).
Last Thursday, Morristown strolled past Hauser with points to spare, taking the game 48-33.
Morristown can attribute much of their success to Emma Nelson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and DDanika Rutledge, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayla Keithley, who scored six points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, Knightstown were a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Union County, falling 63-23. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Knightstown has suffered since December 15, 2023.
Morristown is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-12 record this season. As for Knightstown, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Morristown against Knightstown when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 49-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morristown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
