Tatum is a perfect 8-0 against Arp since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tatum Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Arp Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Tatum's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Arp's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Tatum will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating New Diana, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. Tatum won by a run and slipped past New Diana 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Tatum has posted since April 16, 2024.
Logen Tovar looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Grant Adcock, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Cooper Whiteus, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Tatum hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Diana struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Arp made easy work of Cumberland Academy on Friday and carried off a 10-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won four in a row.
Arp got a big performance out of Caden Cliborn, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, Cliborn posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Matthew Lowe was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Tatum is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. Arp's victory bumped their record up to 4-8-1.
Tatum came out on top in a nail-biter against Arp in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Does Tatum have another victory up their sleeve, or will Arp turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
