After flying high against the Enloe Eagles last Tuesday, the Wakefield Wolverines came back down to earth. Wakefield took a serious blow against Elizabeth Seton on Wednesday, falling 74-35. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wakefield has scored all season.
Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lyla Bagwell, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Aly Schaffer, who scored nine points.
Wakefield's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Elizabeth Seton, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Wakefield won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Jackson-Reed at 2:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Jackson-Reed presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wakefield in their respective states (Jackson-Reed is ranked sixth in District of Columbia, while Wakefield is ranked 175th in North Carolina). Elizabeth Seton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against King's Fork at 5:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023.
