The East Central Cardinals''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Sapulpa on the road and fell 56-13. While losing is never fun, East Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Sapulpa is ranked 42nd).
Although East Central took the loss, they still got scores from Nicholijah Williams and Veshion Arps.
East Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Sapulpa, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
East Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sapulpa will head out on the road to face off against Claremore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Claremore will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
