Washington County extended the longest winning streak in AAA Region 3 this week by beating Lovett, 48-35. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Jefferson County moved up to 139 from 165 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 21-0 win over Dodge County helped the Warriors improve their standing.
Swainsboro's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Dylan Poole has thrown for 193 yards this season, while Stephen Gomez has two catches for 86 yards. Jemerico Bell leads the league in rushing with 390 yards.
A big matchup in AAA Region 3 this week will be when Jefferson County takes on Washington County. J.B. Arnold's team is in fourth place, while the Golden Hawks are in first place.
The Warriors made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,490 from 4,088. The improvement was the result of 21-0 victory over the Indians last week.
