The James River Knights lost against the Alleghany Cougars on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. James River took a 45-28 bruising from Alleghany.
James River's loss came despite strong showings from Caitlin Canada and Siera Davis. Canada dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Davis scored four points along with three steals. Canada is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
James River now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Alleghany, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
James River will be playing in front of their home fans against Radford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Radford is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Alleghany, they will head out on the road to challenge Fort Defiance at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Fort Defiance will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Alleghany is ranked 67th).
