The Lone Star Rangers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sherman 41-10 on the road. The result was nothing new for Lone Star, who have now won four matchups by 31 points or more so far this season.
Lone Star was led to victory by Collin Blackstock and Bryson Jones. Blackstock threw for 282 yards and four touchdowns, while Jones picked up 151 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Jones is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Lone Star also got a significant boost from Isaiah Massey, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 109 yards.
Lone Star's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-6 Sherman and 2-6 Burleson (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 39.6% over those games). As for Sherman, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Lone Star will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Frisco at 7:00 p.m. Frisco will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Lone Star is ranked 76th). As for Sherman, they will head out on the road to face off against Wakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wakeland will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
